La Maison: The Splendor of Cartier

The penultimate jeweller, Cartier's creations are sought after for their beauty, allure and lasting value. Exceeding expectations, the materials, precious stones and craftsmanship which Cartier employs are as rare as the objects they produce. Sourcing stones for one piece of high jewellery, alone, can take years, and it is the stories behind the creation of these pieces which draw the true admirers of this maison.

Announcing at SIHH 2019 that production of many of their movements would be in-house, Cartier has demonstrated with its current line of time pieces that it is serious about being a watchmaker and not only a jeweller who makes watches. A feat of engineering and watchmaking, the Cartier Tank Cintrée Skeleton displays the in-house, manually wound caliber 9917 MC mechanical movement. With 60 hours of power reserve and the theatre of this unique movement on show under mineral sapphire crystal, this model will no doubt provide hours of enjoyment to its owner.

Cartier's writing collection has also enjoyed renewal, with its R de Cartier line showcasing a black calfskin leather and metal ball point pen and a palladium finish with rivetted appearance. For those with more traditional tastes, Cartier still offers a fountain pen in its trademark precious resin and glass composite. Smooth to the touch and stronger than resin, alone, this unique material sets Cartier's writing instruments apart with a discrete, rich, dark sheen.
To view Cartier's  magnificent collections for yourself, a consultation with a Cartier sales representative is recommended at their beautiful location on Howe Street, here in Vancouver.
